Marathon No.90. - Kent RoadRunner Marathon

The annual Kent Roadrunner Marathon takes place at the multi-million pound Cyclopark venue in north-west Kent. The gently undulating course makes use of a perfectly smooth 2.5km private tarmac circuit - absolutely no traffic, no pedestrians and no dogs!

Water and CLIF SHOT Electrolyte drinks were available on each lap (1.5mi).  CLIF SHOT BloKS  chewable energy cubes, jelly babies and other snacks were also available each lap.

Distance: Classic marathon distance of 42.195km (26.2mi) covered using seventeen laps of 2.49km.


The event, like the participants, run like clockwork, round the track. Cracking Day.

Marathon No.89 - Edinburgh Marathon

The START

The START - It was RAINING!!

Runners were able to drop their baggage off at the baggage trucks at the start area and these were transported to the finish area for pick up after the race.


 


Runners were assigned to one of two starting points, London Road and Regent Road. Runners were headed round Holyrood Park, along Queens Drive to London Road The route carried on down Lochend Road, through Leith, towards the coast before heading along to Musselburgh then the fishing areas of Cockenzie and Port Seton. Next, runners pass through the grounds of Gosford House. Finally, the last stretch takes runners back along the coast to Port Seaton promenade before finishing at Musselburgh Racecourse. 

The Cut Off time for the Edinburgh Marathon was 6 Hours 30 Minutes....

Over 16,000 runners took part in the Edinburgh Event. There was also the option of entering relay teams of 4 runners, each running 6.5 miles.

Some runners dressed in fancy costume!






Hydration Stations were positioned approximately 5kms apart. Bottles of Strathmore Water and High5 EnergyGels were also available.
